Just returned from our first of many road trips. Total milage was 2164.5 and we were gone 2 weeks and a day. Started by riding what is informally known as the Dragons Back, which is route 16 from Boone, NC to St. Marys, WVA. Along ride, but, well worth the effort.
Proceeded to Deep Creek Lake, Md. to visit some family and play on the lake. Then on to Pa. where we got caught in some very hard rain and had to spend a few extra days there waiting out the storms. On the lighter side, I did give a blonde hair, blue eyed girl a ride on the Spyder(bucket list check mark)(she is also my cousin).
Headed north and rode across Pa. on route 6. Lots of nice scenery and small towns to see and an easy ride. Continued north to Ithaca, NY. ad into Conn. to visit relatives I hadn't seen in years.
Started our journey homeward into NJ. and thru Del. and Va. Spent the last night out in Raleigh, NC and then back home.
It was and enjoyable trip, and we had a lot of fun. The Spyder performed without a hitch. We only saw 2 Spyders on the whole trip, one in passing and the other at one of our fuel stops. We got to talk with them briefly, They had a red Spyder and live in Allentown, Pa. and were on their way home from touring the Great Lakes. If you are on here, PM me and let me know if you made it home safely.
We have started thinking about our next trip. Cannot wait to see where the Spyder takes us next.
