• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rivco Floorboards

May not be the right place for it, but I wanted to share my experience with Rivco. I put the floorboard on my RSS about 3 months ago. I really like them. The other day when my wife was getting on the Spyder I noticed that she stepped on the floorboard and as she twisted her foot to get on the seat, the rubber twisted under her foot and was tearing off. Yesterday, the rubber and metal foot plate came all the way off when I was mounting. I just chaulked it up to me and the wife not knowing we shouldn't twist on the floorboard when getting on the Spyder. I called Rivco today to order replacement parts and talked to a very nice and helpful guy named Chad. He told me the design was from a floorboard they make for Harleys and they had not anticipated people standing on them and twisting the board as they swing their legs over, since you typically wouldn't do that on a two wheeler. I fully expected to pay for replacements but he said they had re-designed the boards because of the problem and they would ship me the newer model at no charge. He also told me if I was on any of the forums to pass the word along to anyone else who may have this problem. All you have to do is call and they will ship you replacements. So, I am posting it as requested. I was surprised and very impressed with the way they do business. Very transparent and a genuine interest in addressing the problem. Glad to have such a great sponsor on this forum.

me too...

same thing happened to my right side Rivco floorboard. I have probably had mine on a little closer to 5 months or so...anywhooooo, I called Rivco honestly to see if I could by new screws or glue to get it back on. I spoke to Rich(I think that was the name) and he said he would send me out a whole new right board. He didn't tell me about the redesigned board though. Within about a week and a half the new board arrived. I am glad you said something, I was thinking the issue was me being a big guy . Who wants to be on the road wondering if they have there foot in a good place.

ooch, so I just installed a new set, so does that mean in several months from now I can expect to reinstall new ones????? That's not good......man, just when I found ones I liked... OK Then.

I don't think the issue has happened to a mass majority of the customers. I think it has to do with riding style or a combination of riding style and weight/pressure(in my case) on a particular board. Since I wear a size 14 I move my right foot around a lot making sure I stay comfortable so with the non slip soles it was probably tearing it away on each ride. 5500 miles later it finally gave in. Since Slim was advised the boards were redesigned it shouldn't be an issue for the boards recently bought. :dontknow:
