• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Right vent outlet grille gone?

I came back from a ride yesterday where I was forced to drive on a newly rocked and oiled highway for quite awhile. I asked my husband if he could check the belt for me just in case a small rock had gotten kicked up (I heard a lot of them in my fenders and underbody...). Then I promptly left to walk the dog. When I got back he met me at the end of the driveway and told me that I was missing parts. The way he said it, I thought a lot of stuff must have fallen off the spyder. :yikes: Turns out he was only talking about the right vent outlet grille. When he showed it to me, it struck me that it's been gone for quite a while because on some of my pre-ride inspections I remembered looking in directly at the fan. I just never thought about the fact that there's a grille on the left side and not one on the right.

How easy is it to lose these grilles?

I've got my 3K service scheduled for Thursday and I thought I might order a new grille from the dealer, but then I saw the nice mesh ones on spyderpops, so I ordered a replacement pair from him along with the bump skid and the catalytic converter heat shield.

The right side of the Spyder does not have the grill covers, upper or lower, unless you have purchased them from an aftermarket vendor. Don't think you have lost anything.

Like they said. No grill on the right side fan opening. I had the same issue on my first Spyder. I even took a covert trip to the dealer to make sure that the new machines did not have the grills on them.

Same here, asked dealer they forgot grill on right, he says nope.

BRP don't want anything disturbing the air flow moving through there, not even a simple grill.

I did the same. Took a ride to the dealer and talked to my salesman. He was surprised as well and we took a look at several, 2 or 3, on the showroom and none of them had it either. He also called service and confirmed. It does look odd though. I have considered an aftermarket chrome screen to give it a "complete" look, but have not done it yet.

It is pretty sad to think "we" get so enthralled about a Spyder that we really don't look at the details of it before we pay a large sum of money to own one.

Really, you would think we would look at the details more before we pay $20,000+ for something. I know I do for anything else in that range and up.

Admittedly however, I fell for the same thing.

The magical-spell the Spyder puts on people is surprising.

:agree: Well said. I is amazing that all I thought about when the dealer was going over the delivery was "get out of the way so I can take this out on a ryde". :roflblack: He could have told me anything and I would have probably not really have heard him. The Spyder is an amazing machine that seems to hypnotized those of us who have purchased one.

Thanks Spyderlovers Forum and Members, I had the same question (no grille on right side cover) and found the answer here by searching the forum. If you go to the Can-Am site, pick the Limited model and do the 360 degree view it appears there is one on the right cover. Just haven't found another Limited model to check in the very few days (and really good days) of ownership so far. I looked through some of the gallery pics so far as well.

I'm not sure, but I think you're scamming... I just got scammed from the FBI Ransom Virus that locked up my computer system demanding $200 via paypal to release it. Who would have thought my system was hacked. I'm not falling for that trick again.... :roflblack:

BTW: We first noticed ours was missing right before our 3000 mile service.... During the service, we were told there never was one, I admit that I had to check the RTs on the floor to verify.
