Right palm gets numb - will bar-end weights help?

Hi guys, my Spyder is an ST-L 2013.
My right palm gets numb most of the time when I travel 20km and above, with an average speed of 90km/h. I have added foam grips and I'm quite relaxed on the grip.
I don't wear gloves 'cause I don't feel comfortable.
My guess is that this is due to the vibration of the belt.
I Checked with Doc, but he doesn't have any tensioner for the ST's.
I Wonder if by adding handlebar end weights, will it solve the numbness of my right palm?

Do share if you have the same experience and have found a solution to counter it.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks in advances... Cheers.

Mine does too. I bought the Kuryakyn throttle boss grip. Has a palm rest that helps!!! If I feel my hand getting fatigued, I rest the heel of my hand on it. Works pretty good!!

I had this like crazy on my 2008 GS. Could only ride for about an hour and hand was totally numb. Related to carpal tunnel problems.
I put on a Throttle Meister which acts kind of like a cruise control. Worked GREAT. Without that I never would have been able to put 75,000 miles on that Spyder.

Both my 2012 RT and my 2015 F3 have cruise... so no longer an issue.

If the ST you have is fly-by-wire then you can probably add cruise for a reasonable price....

My right hand use to go to sleep on me. I purchased an Atlas Throttle Lock and so it is working fine.
If go to You Tube and put the name in the search. You can view it there.

Thanks for your advice.
ST-L do come with cruise control.
is just that Singapore is a very small country, ironically the moment i switch on the cruise the next few moment i need to switch it off to bring the beast to a stop.

The first place I'd stop would be with my primary care physician to determine any physical/health issues. Not every numbness is caused by carpal tunnel.

By the way, I had an issue with vibration thru the handle bars with my 2008 GS, and in my case I added bar end weights, which had to be cut to fit because I have risers; I also do not have carpal tunnel. The weights took care a good part of the problem.

Thank s for the suggestion.
Would prefer the bar end weight option.
Any good & nice bar end weight to recommend?

Cheers

BRP used to sell the bar weights for the RS but they don't anymore. When I had an 2012 RS had the same problem and purchased the set of weights from BRP. I think I got the last pair ever made. Took them off because it made no difference. Finally put on the throttlemeister on to rest my hand and that worked great. Sounds like this will not work for you.

Had similar issues in the past.
What was a big help to me was increasing the grip diameter.
Tennis racquet wraps did the trick.
I used the thicker ones w/ foam backing. get Them at Wally World for about 5 bucks-takes 2, one each side. Easy to install and just cut to length.
Expect to be riding a Spyder in the next week and that will be the first thing I add.
Likely that will be the least expensive thing I add.

Btw is it ok to keep the cruise swith ON all the time so that I'm able SET/UNSET cruising mode as and when i need?
Is it advisable to switch the cruise to OFF before I kill the engine?

Me too

I had the same thing happen to me when I rode my bicycle. Didn't know it but there is a nerve that goes through the palm and to the middle finger. I got special set of grips that have a protrusion whereby I can rest the heal of my hand on the grip and take the pressure off my palm and not irritate that nerve. You can get those grips for just about any handle bar out there. Had them on my HD when I sold it.

do the stretches!
