• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riding with a passenger

How does the ST handle with a passenger? We will be riding frequently with a 160lb rider and a 200 lb passenger. Not touring on the highway just visiting tourist sight after trailering the bike to a destination. Comments? Suggestions?

Very well...

Once you are comfortable ryding solo adding a passenger is no problem. You may have to adjust your shocks (if you have adjustable type) let your passenger know a little about the handling of your spyder and in a few short miles it will be fun and smiling on down the road...

Practice

Find good parkinglot & pre practice, with passanger so they have some idea. & if they, you dont like feel, your not stuck ryding all way back to wherever.

Put the Baja Ron swaybar on and the Fox shocks up front if you don't have them. You'll notice very much improved stability with a passenger on the back with this set up. At least, I do on my RS.

So many people recommend the Baja Ron. We pick up our bike on Friday. Should I just call and ask them to add it or should I drive it a while first?

Don't bother driving without the thicker sway bar. Put it on from the get go and put on a passenger backrest. Both good suggestions. Also, when you buy, have the dealer help you set up the suspension. I found that the stock shocks worked better with the preload cranked up (front shocks) and rear with quite a bit of air in it. The dealer should know how to set up the suspension for you.

Thanks

Thanks for all your helpful comments. Backrest being installed. Will look into getting the sway bar attached right away. Getting our bike in a few days. Can't wait!

strongly recommend a passenger backrest. many options around.

I agree, I would never run a motorcycle :spyder2: with as passenger without a backrest. You want it to be a safe and fun experience for them.

As stated....may want to adjust the shocks for the additional weight.

X4 on the backrest. My wife rode 1 time without and she did not ride again until the backrest was installed.

As mentioned above Swaybar and I would also do the heim links while you are at it.

Sounds like you are way below the weight limit. My wife and I together are above the weight limit. It was not an enjoyable ride. The breaks get tested the most and your turning suffers a s well. Now that she got her own bike, Its fun to follow each other around.
