• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riding suits?

:shocked::hun:

Most of us adhere to ATGATT (all the gear, all the time). I have no issue with how anyone else wants to do their ride though.

IMO: You never know when or where an accident will happen. Ready or not, here it comes. :yikes::yikes:

I've been wearing the same Stich Roadcrafter since 96. The two things that I find pretty amazing about this gear is it still has a
few years of life left in it and.....it still fits my big arse! :D

No doubt expensive but if you go this route, I recommend the two piece suit.

During the cold weather I wear the Aerostich Roadmaster 1-Piece (although I am looking for another used one I am completing a 50 lb. weight loss) and during the warmer season I wear the Motoport Airmesh Kevlar suit.

I am a believer of ATGATT.

Personally I've always admired a Brooks Brother pin strip :roflblack:

Which riding suits do you recommend? Most are VERY expensive (Aerostitch sre well over $1000.00) so I need help choosing something that will be comfortable, offer protection in case of a slide down the pavement, is completely water proof, and is reasonably priced. Currently I just dress in normal cloths, a leather jacket, and Frogg Toggs for when it rains. Frogg Toggs are water proof and breath, but don't work well when the rain comes before I'm ready for it.

What do you recommend and why?

Take a look here

Leatherup dot com had some good prices. I was looking on their web site last night.

I ride (my sport bikes) in full race leathers and a full face Sheoi helmet, race boots, and gloves. My skin is worth the money. I got an A* jacket on Craigslist, guy bought it for his girlfriend but she didn't want to ride, so $200 vs $450. The boots were $300, but this was clearance. Gloves were Held gloves that I found on Amazon for $25 instead of $150, the leather pants were clearance at $250 vs $450, and the helmet was on sale, $325 vs $500. I also bought a $600 Schott motorcycle jacket on ebay

If you look on motorcycle closeouts.com, you can often find new gear for less. Also eBay. I bought my husband a $600 Dainese jacket for $275. Check eBay and Craigslist for that Aerostitch gear. Dainese and Alpinestar make some of the best quality leather. Tourmaster makes nice winter coats. TCX are great for boots.

If you can't find it used, it's worth it new. There is a company in CA that makes Kevlar riding suits. I'll go find them.

http://www.motoport.com

You want:
1) abrasion resistance (leather or Kevlar are best, nylon can melt into your skin when sliding) and
2) impact protection- arm, back, chest, shoulder, knee and hip, CE level 1 or 2

Bohn makes armored shirts and pants. I also found bohn pants for 1/2 price on Amazon.

https://www.bohnarmor.com

This armored shirt is top quality. I have one even though it's men's.

Revzilla in general has the best of everything. Hospital bills and skin grafts are expensive. This is cheap insurance in comparison.
