• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riding course?

My wife would like to learn to drive my Can-Am Spyder. Does anyone know of any TRIKE courses that are offered in Western NY? I can find regular 2 wheel motorcycle courses, but she would never drive one of those, only the Spyder. I can't find any schools that offer this course. I know Can-Am offers them in Ontario Canada, but that's another country and the license from there wouldn't be valid in NYS. Any help would be appreciated.

Check with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). I know they offer trike courses, but how many, when, and where you have to get from them.

MSF Courses vary by state. Might want to contact companies within the http://msf-usa.org/ website and go from there. Some companies offer the Trike course, some you need to request it.
The Spyder has a DVD that gives a nice introduction on learning to ride. Get you some red plastic cups fill with sand, a nice ample parking lot and teach her. That is what I did with my wife after she learned to ride on 2 wheels with a local MSF course. She hated learning on 2 wheels, but she has a lot of respect for riding after that class.

Riding

Thanks for the information, appreciate it. I never thought she would be interested in learning to ride my Spyder, time will tell.
Thanks again.

See if the Gold Wing Road Riding Association (GWRRA) has any courses near where you live? I took their course a couple of years ago and I get a nice discount on my insurance. Great bunch of folks too. It's their trike class.

The MSF didn't have any classes in GA offered for trikes of any kind, much less Spyders.

Also check the BRP website I think they may have a list of classes or links. I took the MSF trike class in TN over a weekend. Well worth the time. I recommend this class to any novice or experienced riders. They take you through all types of riding situations and after the class I had a much better feeling for how the bike handled.

GWRRA trike course is good. .
Parking lot first I would suggest small cones (cheap at many sporting goods stores) or old tennis bals cut in half to mark out area. I would be little concerned about the sand cups, probably not a big deal on the Spyder, but I am also thinking of two wheels.
Good luck and have fun
