• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riding boots

I've always liked the look of a harness boot, but I'm having trouble finding one that's low profile and with a more rounded toe.

What kind of boots do you wear while riding?

I also like the harness boots. I have one pair of black and one pair of brown for my mood of the day. Any good motorcycle store has a good variety. I like Motorcycle Superstore for boots. Both mine cost about $90. One pair is going on 10 years old (just resoled them), and one pair about five years old.

For nasty weather riding (rain deluge), I also have a pair of SIVI waterproof's. European styling and zip up the side. About $150.

I wear Harley Davidson http://img.wolverineworldwide.com/i...sm=0.5,1&wid=330&hei=330&qlt=95&fmt=png-alpha
called HUSTIN WATERPROOF Boots. These boots are very comfortable have an inside zipper that makes them easy to put on and take off. The fit the 2010 RT foot pegs very well.
They were expensive but worth every penny,I have definitely got my moneys worth from these boots. They have all the safety shanks built in to protect your foot from heat and road debris.

The BRP Spyder riding boots were too narrow for my foot.

Used to use...

My Harley boots shown here but they are my dress boots.... don't
want to mess them up..
Check out the boney white legs

Black is for when you feel like getting into trouble:clap:
Brown is after black when your in deep Poo Poo :yikes::roflblack:

Low cut harness boots with square toe. Harley Davidon waterproof 8" boots with laces and side entry zipper...nice but clunky.

Harness Boots?
Engineer Boots?
:dontknow:
Can anybody post some pictures of examples?
The terminology is befuddling my simple mind...
To me: boots, is just boots!

I am an engineer and work in a factory. I wear safety toe sneakers on a daily basis and find them more than adequate for riding.
For long distance riding, I have a pair of Honda boots. Here are the Honda boots followed by my daily wear.

$39.95. I'm very happy with them.

For daily wear, I have these:

I feel its good sense to protect ones ankles .. thus tennis shoes are out... I wear Navado or Wolverine boots all the time while riding.. along with a full face helmet.. I like my teeth intact..
other opinions may vary

Question: What's the difference between Engineer's Boots and Cowboy Boots?
Answer: Cowboy Boots have the horse poop on the OUTSIDE.

Harness boots are similar. The buckle is eliminated in favor of a sewn in ring. Admittedly, it's not a functional difference, mostly style.

Harness boots have the straps (decorative) around the ankle. Sometimes duded up with "d" rings or "o" rings and ornaments on the "cool" ones. Yep, mine are cool.

Engineer boots--no decorative straps. Sometimes are steel toed for some great ***kicking.

See post #15 for the pictures. Yep, the black harness shown is similar to one of the pairs I wear. Mine have more decoration on the front strap.
Also have a pair of the black engineer boots, used to wear those for motorcycling back in the 80's. Steel toed and all. Still have them.
