• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ride-On

Well I have to say that Ride On saved me on this trip. I rode for probably nearly an hour with a "flat" front tire. When we stopped in Seligman, AZ the front left tire was completely flat (bad valve). We got lucky and found a guy running a tire shop out of the back of his house less than 2 miles down the street that fixed the valve in less than 30 minutes for $20!!

How did the Ride On help?

I took off 96 gram of weight on my rear wheel after installing Ride-On and it worked great for me. All I can tell you is my experience.
Took it to the dealer on Monday for my 3,000 mile check up. On the way there I got to wondering if maybe it's just the belt needs adjusted... I hope to get the RT back today. I'll let you know what they found out.

How did the Ride On help?

Well, it's only a theory but I was able to keep moving relatively well at 70mph+ for who knows how long until we stopped. It was VERY hot outside and my guess is that cetrifigal force when moving kept the Ride On sealing the leak in the valve and then once we stopped it just all pooled in the bottom and the hole was no longer sealed. But, like I said, it's only a theory. However, I had no other explanation of how I was able to keep moving at such a high speed for so long without it while having a leak as bad as we had.

I just changed my rear tire and am about to balance it with Ride-on. It seems to me that the amount ( oz ) has changed from what was recommended last year. The forums are indicating that now the fronts take 13 oz and the rear 18 oz. Does anyone remember what was previously recommended. I'd like to add to the fronts if there is a difference.

I put 13 oz. in front, 18 in the rear as Lamonster suggested. The dealer serviced my Ryde and the belt was "very loose" and it does seem better now.

I used a whole bottle in each front tire (16 oz) and a bottle and a half in the rear when I did mine way back in April of 08.

I have never had a propblem with it, and the balance is still GREAT!

FINALLY

I wanted to get rid of my vibration before leaving for Tennesee this Wednesday so I added 2 more ounces of Ride On to each front tire for a total of 15oz. It was not any better.
Friday I had a garage remove the Ride On and balance the front wheels with stick on weights. FINALLY I have a smooth ride again.
I still have RideOn in the rear tire. I have no idea why it did not work in my front tires, :dontknow:
but I am back to 100% for my 500 mile ride down Rt 81!!
:clap::clap:

Tire Balance

I have a Yamaha dealer in the town that I live in that is noted for his excellent service and knowledgeable mechanics. He also is noted for being able to balance almost any tire since he has the latest and best balancing equipment. When I had him balance my spyder tires the sublect of RIDE-ON came up. He told me that this type product has been around for some time and that different ones gain popularity or make different claims but all of these products are basically the same with only slight variations in formula. His advice was to stay away from them because eventhough under ideal conditions they will appear to provide a smooth ride they will never always provide a true balance and tires will eventually take on a wear pattern. He talked me out of using it.

Ride on

Last week I replaced my front tire on our silver spyder, the rear on our Yellow spyder. Ride on in all new tires, Yellow rear smooth very quickly. Silver took a few more miles Both are GREAT! will I use Ride on again? You bet! even thinking about putting ride on in our Jeep tires...

:agree:I have not had flat in forty years and have 2 Towing/ Emergency repair programs and don,t want any Goooo rollin around in my tires. IMHO:roflblack:

I used Ride-On in my original front tires, didn't help, nothing could balance those tires. Installed some michelins, smooth with external balancing, added 2oz. Dynabeads in the front and 3oz. in the rear, really smooth now, thought maybe i was imagining it until i looked in my mirrors.
