• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have 450 miles on my new red spyder. Getting closer to the magical 600 mile milestone. Just wondering how many miles the average person put on their Spyder before they started riding it like they stole it. I do not yet know what this machine is capable of doing.

Pretty much rode it like I stole it right out of the dealer parking lot!

I started riding it pretty agressively at about 500 miles but didn't go all out till about 800 miles (when i had first service done)

As a former WMU grad . . . . .

. . . . I put at least 300 miles per week on my Spyder. I find I ride it a lot more than my motorcycle and hardly ever drive my Jeep anymore.

We have a lot of roads here in NM and things are far apart. Perfect Spyder country.

I did take it easy before I hit the 600 mile marker, but now I take it everywhere.

While I will get fairly aggressive from time to time:doorag:, I still mostly drive like my wife is sitting right behind me holding on the holy crap handles.:yikes:

500 miles on mine so far in my first two weeks. :)

I have had some full throttle acceleration... and a lot of mixed tooling around town and at highway speeds.

The other night, I came down a road that had a thing layer of red clay built up due to some construction.... Needless to say... I rode through that stuff about 3 or 4 times at about 10mph, wound her up and let the clutch fly just to see what would happen. Spun the rear wheel up pretty nicely and control felt great when the rear fished out a bit.... Computer retarding the motor too.

Only taken up to 80mph so far.

So... I think I'm breaking mine in just fine!

I ride so fast that I blew up 2 exhausts:ohyea:

I ride it like I ride my CBR which is aggressive and fast but in control.

My spyders first service was at 850 miles. "I" started riding my spyder like I stole it when I got my husband off it. :D

FISH65, I think we are pretty even on o.t. list.

First of all, welcome to another Michigan rider. I rode mine pretty hard from the get go. I varied the acceleration and speeds and tach. I was in need of my 600 mile service by the time my husbands spyder arrived, 3 weeks later. I have over 16,000 really great miles on it now and I enjoy every one of those.

By the way, in case you missed it, bjt, SomeGuy and I are heading to the Cleveland area tomorrow with the SpyderLover's banner if you want to join us for the ride. Shoot me a PM and I'll give you more info. Have rain gear will travel.
