• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Revs to 6000 RPMs when starting

I have a 2010 RS SE5 and just changed the battery. Dealer said old one was dead. When I started it the RPMs went up to about 6000 and stayed there. Help please.

Took the key out and went in the house frustrated. Went back later, started the bike and it idled just perfect. No sounding like the throttle was wide open.

It must be just a Gremlin, most likely the computer booted up and if it happen again , have it check by the dealer.

:agree: Let's all hope that it was just a "Ghost In The Machine" trying to get the computer back up and ressurected!

Your throttle is a mechanical system using cables as used on all RS and GS before 2013 and may have been stuck. For safety reasons I would have your dealer check it out.

Don't know..!!

if you have bar ends, cruise control or stock ends on the throttle side. Good to check nothing is rubbing or causing the throttle not to fully return. If the cables have not been lubed can't hurt and check routing of cables. Or it could be gremlins..!! :gaah:
