• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

after a full day of ryde, i do like or at least can live with the rise 2" block has given me and turning handle bar IS easier with the riser block. i can take the turns and curves with ease and has taken alot of weight off of my hands.
a big :2thumbs: up for the riser. i did struggle with the 2 bolts those are hard to get to without the low profile ratchets but after 2 hours of trying alot of things, i eventually figured out a easy way to do it. i stuck the larger allen wrench that came in spyder tool set in 10mm socket all the way and that was just enough to get the 2 lower bolts out. if only i had that idea to begin with i could have saved almost 2 hours...

anywho, riser itself would get 10 thumbs up if i had them:D

i was wee bit worried about dealing with something important as steering part of the spyder myself but, with anything you do for the first time, it is no big deal after you done it once and it really does not involve much risk. you are simply taking the cover off and put a spacer and putting the cover back on.
with 2" block, i did not have to pull on any cables for more slack neither.

So glad to see you're happy with it. Great idea about using the allen wrench with a socket. Very McGyverish!

I told you how much more steering authority it gave me. I'm pleased that you find the same.

BTW, thanks for taking that picture when you came down to San Diego; as you can see it has become my avatar.

Good riding!

no problem and i have to thank you also for helping me with riser. i had to call mark twice :helpsmilie::2thumbs::D

by the way transformer was great. 2 1/2 hours went pretty quick.
spyder did not get much of a roll thou... did not even get a full shot... but any publicity is better than nothing. one of the guys work at our company recognized the spyder when i rode it to office on friday. he went "transformer?" :D

just tried the allen wrench with my 10MM socket and it would not go thru. I also got the 2" riser and am anxious to get it installed. I will go to Sears tomorrow and get the socket. did you remove the top panel before you installed?

Guys,

Just one important note...the riser deletes your ability to use the steering lock...Ron said they're working on it and should have a correction by the fall...

I'm not doing anything with the riser issue now anyway, but I certainly need my steering lock to work properly...
