• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rev Limiter

Ive read that somewhere too, but has anyone REALLY been there and can tell us ???:dontknow:

I have been to 10,000 rpm in all gears except for 5... I got to 203 km's once but that's all she'd do. I don't remember if it started to bog down like the other gears or just wouldn't go any faster.

I was being facetious.... about being told. The rev limiter is set to 10K. I've hit it while spinning the rear wheel and I just over revved it once. When over revved the Spyder will blubber exactly like it does when the VSS kicks in. I can't be the only to over rev the motor or upset the nanny?

I was thinking that perhaps there are quite a few who have been there but are reluctant to say so in case BRP are looking at the sites for any future warranty claims. Is big brother watching us ???:chill::joke:

They don't need to look at the sites, when you have your bike serviced the BUD download will tell them what your highest RPM was and give your percent of time spent in what range of rpm's. I didn't know this until my service manager showed me that sheet saying I'd hit 8,600 rpm's during my break-in.

Pg 106 of owners manual...rev limiter is 10,000...and possibly in the forward motion only...wonder of reverse is not protected. As far as them watching us...there's a black box in most new vehicles and your dealer can look at them when warranty issues arise to check your use of the vehicle and deny service, law enforcement is also pushing the issue of seizing them for use in courts when traffic accidents occur. You can request them to be disabled.
