• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Retiring and more time to ride

I'm throwing my hat in the ring.

I retire in two days! November 30th is my last day working. Although, I'll be on the payroll till January 27th taking a little vacation time. I'm really looking forward to this new phase of my life. Over the last 35+ years the most time off I've had at one time was two weeks. This should be fun.

I have my map and making plans for 2017.

I looking to travel if all goes good July or August 2017. Just like to see who would like to go and set up meeting places. Get things set up for motels etc, etc. To make sure we have all the money we need.
I would be looking for a couple of weeks something like that. We could always camp to.
you interested pm me. This is the first time I would do anything like this.

HEAT/HOT

KEEP IN MIND MARINE, THAT JULY & AUGUST ARE HOT, HOT, HOT......
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND GET'n YOURSELF A 'WET-VEST' SUCH AS THIS ONE; https://www.cyclegear.com/gear/fly-cooling-vest
fly_cooling_vest_silver_750x750.jpg

THIS VEST WAS A LIFE-SAVER FOR BOTH MYSELF AND MY RIDING PARTNER WHILE CROSSING THE COUNTRY THE PAST FEW YEARS...
DON'T TAKE THIS SUGGESTION LIGHTLY.... BETTER TO HAVE IT AND NOT NEED IT, THAT TO NEED IT AND NOT HAVE IT.... CHEAP MONEY FOR MAXIMUM HEAT PROTECTION...
ANOTHER SUGGESTION; STAY HYDRATED... ALWAYS KEEP A BOTTLE OF WATER WITH YOU.... IT MAY GET WARM (HOT ACTUALLY), BUT IT'S BETTER THAN NO WATER....
BEST OF LUCK ON YOUR X-COUNTRY RIDE... KEEP US POSTED, WE CARE....

For those guys that want to head out this summer lets go. There is no time like the present. This up coming summer would be okay as retirement has arrived and I am telling you its a good feeling. a little boring at times but all I have to do is go to the shop and look at the bike and I am good. just thinking of where to next. if any one want to do a cross country ride this up coming summer count me in. I am heading west the first week in august any way...so this would fit right in...

where are you heading to out west and how long will you be gone? Have you decide what route you be going? Sorry for all the question. This is the first time I ever thought of doing something like this. Just taking into the fact the motels and all.
