• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Today I rerouted the gas line from the evap can along the right side to the back by the passenger foot peg.Went for a ride 20 miles and when I got home I checked the vent hose and there I found the hose was wet and smelled gas. Is this the norm or do I have a problem.:dontknow:
 
Is it possible that you overfilled the tank a little? Normally, your vent hose would not be wet, with the smell of gasoline. Of course, water on the road could make it wet.
 
If the opening of the end of the hose is lower than the fuel tank, could fuel siphon itself out the hose, especially upon forward accelleration of the Spyder?

The tip-over valve between the tank and the vent hose is supposed to take care of that.
In fact if it's working right it should prevent sloshing fuel from getting in the evap canister.......sure it does......:roflblack:

I also extended / rerouted the canister vent line around and behind the tank, up to the real axle, on top of the rear swing arm, on the left side (when sitting on the Spyder) opposite to my Hindle exhaust.

Regardless of the level of the fuel tank, it always 'burps' plenty of gases out, and even 'pukes' a few drops of raw gasoline.

I have to assume that my canister is already saturated by overfilling the tank, and /or that the length of the hose extension (+/- 6') allows for condensation of some of the fumes.

I am more convinced now that a canisterectomy might solve those problems on my new 2009 SE5 (only 650 miles ridden so far).
