• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Replacing RS O2 Sensor- any tips/manual guidance?

So after getting error messages thanks to my O2 sensor, I decided to order a new one and replace it.

Just looking at the sensor it looks like a simple thing to unbolt it from the exhaust and swap out, but since I don't have a Spyder shop manual, I was wondering if there was anything I need to be aware of (torque settings, loctite use, etc.).

Anyone know for sure? :dontknow:
 
If you're using Bosch: just add anti-seized lubricant on the threads and torque to 33 ft-lbs (45 Nm). Disconnect the negative from the battery.
 
Make sure any anti-seize or sealant used is labeled "safe for O2 sensors". You will need to use an open end wrench or a special O2 sensor socket. (The wires get in the way of a regular socket.)
 
The trick is before you unscrew it from the exhaust is to unplug the connection under the rear splash pan first because the wire will twist. I know you said the old one is no good, but you don't want to damage or pull on the connection plug to the Spyder. Or just cut the wire at the old o2 sensor

While you have the rear slash pan off it would be a good time to check for paint corrosion on the frame under the brake fluid reservoir. If you see bare metal or rust, clean and touch up with paint the corrosion from brake fluid leaks. :thumbup:
