• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Replacing guages

Ambient temp gauge

I mounted a digital voltmeter gauge on the left side and a digital ambient air temperature gauge on the right side. The sensor for the air temperature gauge is mounted in the front right air intake tunnel on my RT. This position gives me the most accurate readings.

The temperature gauge readout is accurate and it made me realize just how much the stock temperature gauge is off, especially during the summer when the combination of air temperature and engine heat can give you very high readings.
NorthStar,
Where did you get your ambient temp gauge? Do you have a link?
Thanks,
Rick

You must disconnect both gauges for the digital fuel bars to appear on your dash screen. If you just disconnect the fuel gauge you will not have any info on the amount of fuel remaining in your tank. However, if you do not need fuel data then disconnecting the single gauge and replacing it with something else is not a problem. The analog temperature gauge will continue to function.

I'm not sure that is an accurate statement. I disconnected the fuel guage on my 2011 RT and the temp guage died. I also got both fuel and temp in the digital display. Hook fuel back up, lost digital and analog temp started working again.

I stand corrected. I did not know that both analog gauges had to be connected for either of the analog gauges to work. Makes me wonder what would happen if one of the gauges malfunctioned....would the other analog gauge quit working as well?

On the left side, a Ram Mounted Cup Holder & not that you need this on yours, but the right side has our Teddy-Cam LCD screen, mounted using a Ram Mount as well. Works for us, just thought I'd share.

In shis pic, the cup-holder is upside down as I had just painted the speaker grills & dash bezel & was trying to get a good pic of them.View attachment 46414
But I think you get the jist. Whatever works for you my man.View attachment 46415
Yo Cincy, what do you use the lcd screen for ? I like you're style, you're out there. Hit me back how you hooked it up, and where you picked the screen up

:barf:
I installed a Whistler radar detector, it fits in the orgional hole. It is specifically made for motorcycles but looks like a gauge. It has a bright blue led that flashes when any of the different radar signals are detected. It also comes with a heads up display you mount on the helmut and right now they are throughing these in with the order. I think I paid about $159, but it may have been a bit less. It has a black bezel so it is perfect and, every one will do a double take when they ask what is that for? lol....

Where did you get that from ? Sounds interesting. Hit me back with the site if you have it

Purchased my gauges from egauges.com

The Cyberdyne gauges are very inexpensive and it looks like egauges is discontinuing selling this product. Chatter on the Internet indicates that Cyberdyne quality for these units is questionable. I have not had any issues with my units (voltmeter & air temperature) but that may just be a bit of luck.

There are other more pricey options out there that may be more reliable. If mine ever give up the ghost I will probably invest in AEM units.

I used digital gauges on my 2010 RT but found them too brite and distracting at night so this time I used analog VDO gauges, Voltmeter and Air Temp, and like them much better.
