Considering how hard it is for grease to get to the bolts and such, and those fittings that hardly take any grease, I'm wondering if a thinner grease would help?
Did a little research to find that the most commonly used is a #2, some use #1, and there are thinner grades of O, OO, etc. The consistancy of these were described as:
#2...peanut butter
#1...tomato paste
#0...brown mustard
Anything thinner doesn't come in cartridges, and even #0 is hard to find online. John Deere lists a TY25083 #0 if I can find some. I think I might try it, if I can locate some locally, in hopes it can be pumped into the difficult zerks and might even migrate between the bushing and bolt. Just something I'm thinking about this cold, icy N.C. morn. I grease all fittings that will take it each oil change
