• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Replacing "Front A Arm Cushions"

I apply never-seize to almost every bolt I remove when working in my shop. I love the stuff.

Good idea...I think that stuff would outlast any kind of grease or lube. I have a couple types in my shed if I need it...since I can no longer use it on spark plug threads! :)

Considering how hard it is for grease to get to the bolts and such, and those fittings that hardly take any grease, I'm wondering if a thinner grease would help?

Did a little research to find that the most commonly used is a #2, some use #1, and there are thinner grades of O, OO, etc. The consistancy of these were described as:
#2...peanut butter
#1...tomato paste
#0...brown mustard

Anything thinner doesn't come in cartridges, and even #0 is hard to find online. John Deere lists a TY25083 #0 if I can find some. I think I might try it, if I can locate some locally, in hopes it can be pumped into the difficult zerks and might even migrate between the bushing and bolt. Just something I'm thinking about this cold, icy N.C. morn. I grease all fittings that will take it each oil change :)

That's the problem, the grease will never get to the bolts through the grease fittings. If you want grease to the bolt you have to pull the bolt and put grease on it.

Lamont, figured that would be the case, but i'm also concerned about the couple of fittings that don't seem to take much, if any, grease. I've got an extra gun and If I can find #0, maybe even #1, I'll give it "shot". :D

i have worked in the offroad industruy for a while and when I installed some suspion parts we would install bolts that were drilled and had greese fiting in them the worked great expicaly here in MI part of the rust belt
