I put my shorty on and saw no difference in reception.

Chris, does that mean you use a shorty and get good reception, or you're thinking about getting one and have questions? I wonder if the CB transmit/receive is as good as the standard?

Hi ChrisHey Rudy! I probably need to talk to you about getting a shorty.

Ditto! :gaah:I tried the shorty and the reception wasn't as good at the stocker so I switched back...
Is it anything special or can I just use loctite and or a lock washer? Will loctite effect the reception? The special, curved lockwasher (P/N 234161601) is shown separately.

:agree: BRP specifies one drop of Loctite on the end thread only, in the service bulletin. Your 2011 should have already had the stainless lockwasher if it was assembled correctly at the dealership.BRP specifies one drop of loctite and a star washer.
Loctite is an insulator so more than just a drop on the very end of the threads is probably too much and might interfere.
