Replaced brake pads - Brake Light Still On

Replaced Brake Pads...checked brake fluid level..all good...why does the brake light (Brake Failure Light) stay on ? The brakes feel fine and also adjusted the parking brake as well....before replacing the brake pads, the brake failure light would come on each time the brake pedal was pressed....the pads were not completely worn out...closest dealer is 2 hours away and trying to avoid that trip

I think you should not avoid those trips because it looks necessary.

If the brake fluid level LOOKS good; try adding just a little bit to it... (Use an eyedropper, so that you can suck some out, if you need to...)
These bikes are really fussy about the fluid level; six drops low, and you'll get a light... :shocked:

I agree with Bob. Add some fluid, even if it looks right. It's easy enough to take some back out.
Take the key away from the bike for a few minutes, for the computer to reset.
I've never had a brake light come on, but I did get the scrolling brake failure message once. It was slightly low fluid.

I had the same problem ,took it out for a short ride took key out for a minute and it cleared up,

:agree: all of the above but a well know issue is the brake switches and fluid level sensors. Try the key walk then pull up and press down on the pedal checking to see if the light is going on and off and make sure you don't ryde with your foot on the pedal. If the failure light does not clear and all is as it should be you may need the dealer to hook it up to buds to clear the codes. :thumbup:
