• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Reneck fixes

Hey...

It gets the job done...he used a house door to replace his missing car door aND the other guy used a house window for the missing truck window and sealed it with expanding foam...doors a door and Windows a window...:roflblack::roflblack:

I was at the Galax Wally World today, what has been seen can not be unseen. I love the guys that have a Dodge dully diesel pickup with a 6" stack sticking out of the bed blowing huge clouds of black smoke as they take off from every stop light. No I'm not an environmentalist, but let's be real. :banghead:

I had a Subaru brat way back when.. it wasn't in great condition. It was -20 and the throttle cable broke. :banghead:

I ripped out the speaker wire and tied it to the throttle linkage and it was just long enough to open the window and run the throttle by hand. Had to go 4 miles, my hand was numb by the time I got home.

The best was the looks I got at stoplights as I took off.

The coolest-ever "Midnight repair" that I managed: During a date with a young beauty during High School, the throttle cable became disconnected on my 1946 CJ-2A back in the.... remote areas of the Town! :opps:
No flashlight: I had to figure out what happened and why, and then find a solution. It turned out that a
c-clip that held the throttle linkage together has fallen out...

...We ended up scavenging the clip off of an available bra, to get the Jeep back on the road!

I can see it now. Bob... Darling, take your bra off, I need to fix the linkage.
Her.... But dad, he needed it to fix the linkage!! Honest...

Bob, you've been telling us you aren't mechanically inclined, so who's idea was it?

john

I'm far more limited now, than I was during my sordid youth...
(almost 52 years as a Type I Diabetic...)

Rob,
Once I realized that we were going nowhere without the throttle linkage hooked up...
...And where we were; would be FAR too difficult to explain...

I started thinking pretty darn fast! nojoke
