• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Removing the river

Out here in the garage getting Hi-O Silver ready for the trip. How do I remove the plastic rivet on the coolant cover without tearing it up?

I used a small flat blade screwdriver to remove that pesky plastic pushin. They make a tool to remove them that can be found at any auto parts store. Good luck

It should be a pop-up rivet. Press down on the center and that should pop up, then grab it and pull straight up and it should come out. Just reverse that to put it back in.

Plastic Rivet

No it is not a pop up rivet. You need a tool or a small flat blade screw driver to pull up the center piece. Once it is pulled up you can remove the cover it is securing. $10 at Harbor Freight will buy you the tool but a screw driver works just as well.

The tool is a pair of push pin pliers. One can be had at Harbor Freight for cheap but examine them closely. The whole stock of them the day I went hunting was junk. My local auto parts store ordered a pair made by Lisle, a bit more expensive but much better quality.

As Doc or JT suggested, a paint can lifter works well.

And it fits in the travel kit, easily. I polished the "hooked" lip with my belt sander to get a thinner edge to slip under the center lip easier.
