• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

removing the right side panel under the seat

I am thinking about placing a hook that is covered by the seat to hang my helmet on and thus locking it when the seat is down. However! I don't know what is under the panel (how much room there is) and I don't know what needs to be done to remove the panel and see. This is a picture of the panel and area I am talking about....

I am hoping there is enough room to put a short molly screw in the panel. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what it takes to remove that. I think I've had everything off but that. Just a thought....Why not fasten whatever it is you are going to use to the side of the steel rectangle tube running through the center under your seat. The metal is going to be stronger than the plastic. A short TEK screw would fasten whatever you need. Just my opinion.

It's easier to take the tupperware off the side of the Spyder below that panel than it is to get that panel out. It is actually only held on by a couple of plastic fasteners in the rear and if I remember correctly two clips up front, but it really hard to get out without a lot of trouble. Not really a very secure thing to fasten to though I am sure that it could not be pulled out so your helmet should be safe if secured to it.

There is three push clips on that panel (the right panel under the seat) one in the rear and another about ten inches to the front and another up at the upper edge of the panel. To remove you must remove the right upper panel and the 'Y' panel in front of the seat. To remove the 'Y' panel open the trunk lid and the inspection cover. Remove the two screws, one on each side and the two and the two push clips at the rear. Also take the screw out right side rear panel.

HELMET HANGER

I make a lot of my own stuff, but never thought about this option.....if you have the ability to fashion a hook how about this....use the first bolt closest to the front that holds the passenger grips on for your anchor.......nobody is going to rip that sucker out, and there seems to be some room under the lip of the seat for the hook and helmet strap......take a look ?????......Mike....:2excited: I like your idea so much I may do this for myself. Thanks

I am pretty sure there is room under the panel for the hidden portion of a Molly screw...

I was asking if anyone knew for sure the short ones are only about an inch or inch and a half long. It seems that getting behind the panel to see is too much trouble so I'll just cut a hole and see what is there. Thanks for all the replies.

I thought of attaching a hook to the square frame but IMO the frame is too far from the edge of the seat to make the helmet hook work well.

Can anyone post pictures of the hook on the RT?
