• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Removing side panels

Owner's manual (pg 117) says to remove the Upper Retaining Screw (number 2 in lower RH picture). It doesn't say anything about what type of bolt this is, but it doesn't appear to be a Torx, and looks like something special. Is there a special tool needed for this?

Here's what you need to remove in order. All bolts are #30 torx. Do not remove the only two screws you can see. Those hold the pins that plug into the rubber grommets.

If what you are looking at looks like the regular Torx screw but has a pin in the center, they are what's called "safety Torx" screws.

The reason they are this kind of bolt is because they are not to be unscrewed to remove the cover. On their backside they are a push pin that is just push into rubber holes.

BRP did this so people do not unscrew them unnecessarily when removing the side cover.

Thank you

Lamont, thanks for the photo shop book.
I was not looking forward to opening up the RT after reading the Operator's Guide last night.
I will feel much better after seeing photos of what is happening. I like it old school, photos no words.:roflblack:
Looks like the battery on its side? Got to love the new sealed batt's.

Lamont, did you change from the SE5 to the SM5?

Thanks Magic for the info on the torx.

I think these photo should be a sticky so all can go to for reference.:chat::ani29:
