• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To anyone that has removed the exhaust pipes for ceramic coating, what method was used in removing the pipes from the block, especially the right side, any special tools needed?. all replies greatly appreciated.

Exhaust pipe removal

Hi Gripman, I have recently wrapped both pipes with Lava Wrap to reduce fuel tank temp. The only way I was able to get access to the right pipe was to remove the fuel tank. This was an interesting project. Once the tank was removed, I was able to get access to the pipe no problems. I am with the thinking that to remove the pipe you will have to remove the tank.
I have added a few pics as well.

Have a great day

Thanks for posting the pics; that is the first time I have seen the fuel tank removed to do this.

What temp change would you say you noted because of the change?

With the forward pipe removed (left side) access to the bolts for the rear cylinder is not a problem. I used a 1/4 drive ratchet and a wobble socket. Did not remove the tank. Although from the pics, does not look like that much more work for the better access and you can fully insulate it while you have it out.

I was able to remove the right side in 3hrs with the tank on but decided that removing the tank was the way to go with the reinstall and thanks very much for the input.

Exhaust wrap

How much of a difference did the Wrap make in temp?

It was a significant heat reduction but its only part of the solution. The RT needs more air flow through the engine bay as well. Replacing the air box with the JT air cleaner helps that a bunch.
