• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Removing Blue Ridge windshield

Hi everyone,

Haven't made too many posts, but always reading stuff on the site. I've had my F3 since the end of March, and have really been enjoying it! Put on about 7000 miles, and I'm really happy with it. It's a ball!!

Here's my question, does anyone have step-by-step instructions on how to remove the blue ridge windshield. (It's been working out fine for me, but just need to do some other things to my F3 that will require it's removal, and wanted to do this during the winter.) I would assume that I have to remove it from the brackets first, then remove the brackets, since I noticed a few torx that will be impossible for me to get to without removing the windshield first.

I'm not the handiest person, but I'm learning, so any help from other F3ers would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Remove the 2 large torx on the side (next to the alum anodized black round cup parts), then take the two screws out of the front bottom of the shield. That's it. You can leave the front swivel bracket on and still get at anything you need, I just did my headlights this way.

That was exactly what I was looking at doing, changing my headlight bulbs!! I don't like the yellowish standard bulb color. So you're talking about the large torx on the top of the support with the purplish color cup, right? Then, all I have to do is remove the two front screws on the bottom of the schield, huh?

Yes. If your standing in front of your spyder looking at your windshield - remove the screws you can see.

Not the acorn nuts on the windshield brackets though! The brackets stay attached to the windshield, that all comes off together when you remove those "purpleish" cups

See nothing to worry about. Where in SE WI do you reside? My parents live in Lake Geneva I ride up in that area all the time.

I live north of Elkhorn, so not very far, and we've probably waved at each other before! I've seen a few other spyders out this past summer.
