• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Remove the windshield to install the risers?

Couple questions -

do we need to remove the shield to take the instruyment cluster gauges off? John can't find a way to 'just pop it off'. What is the trick to removing that?

i remember reading a post last month that there were some cables in the 'trunk' that had tie-wraps on them that needed to be cut to feed more cable. Where are these cables?

Its easier to remove the gauge cluster if you take the windshield off. There are two small slots on top of the dash that you have to insert a small screwdriver or similar object into to push on two holding tabs of the gauge cluster. Its easier to access those slots with the windshield off but its not required if you have the right sized object to push into the slots.

The windshiled removes very easily. I have removed the guage cluster without removing the windshield by using a pair of closed hemostats (formerly known as roach clips) I had in my toolbox. It's a medical clamp, looks like scissors, curved on the end. Anything slim and offset should work, but as easy as it is to remove the windscreen, just do it, then you can use a small screw driver to push strait down into those small holes.

Push one side down, pull the cluster, repeat for other side. Then it will be a good time to give your windscreen a good polish on the inside before you put it back on.
