• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Remove Fuel pump

I have a 2008 spyder and I believe the fuel pump is bad on it. Have any of you guys removed the fuel pump? I'm not really sure how to really get to it to pull it out. Thanks

Fuel Pump

My GS 08 had to have a new fuel pump which was paid for by BRP since it was under warranty. It is in the fuel tank and they took off the tank to get it out and replace it. I had to leave it with the dealer for a day. They said it took three hours, but I don't know that.

More than likely it is a packaged "sending unit" that is mounted to a removable plate on the fuel tank. The sending units usally include several parts: the pump, surrounded by a filter screen, a filter, & the fuel gauge float sensor. :thumbup:All in one unit. Can be a pain on most any vehicle. But you might get lucky to not have to remove the entire fuel tank:bowdown:

Fuel pump

Okay following up with an update. Fuel tank is completely rusted inside and so is fuel pump. Fuel filter strainer turned into powder. Replacing both tank and pump assembly. Removal is a bit of a pain as brake master cylinder needs to be moved and all body panels. In addition rear passenger extended foot rest on right side as well as rear back rest have to also be removed if you have those options installed.
