• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you do a MRI on some who has metal plates in their head? Hope they are of non magnetic material?

I had an MRI done and didn't realize I had some change in my back pocket. The tech should have asked me, and I should have known better. It was one of those late night ones, 10:45pm.
It was the strangest sensation....every time it would do its thing, I could feel the coins vibrating or something....it was uncomfortable, but not unbearable.
I don't like MRI's....all I can think about when in that tube is if there is a fire, I'm gonna die! Lol

Yikes...!!

Well at least any magnetic materials. But they run no risks and have you remove all metals. There were stories of old tatoos with inks that contained iron and especially junk jewlery which is gold plated metals of different types. :yikes: it is impressive...

Luckily the titanium in my knees and hip aren't ferrous, and the screws in my ankle are stainless steel. Still I really hate MRI's, I made the mistake of opening my eyes after I went in head first and thought I was gonna die.

I had to have set of xraya done before my MRI as i had metal filings in my eyes years ago. They wanted to be sure that they got all out

Good stuff to think about. :yikes::yikes:

I am the recent recipient of five stents and then a pacemaker. I was given warning cards to present every time I go to the dentist or a doctor.

The pacemaker is supposed to be MRI compatible, but we will see what happens the next time I need an MRI. Just another adventure? :roflblack::roflblack:

nojoke I used to have to disconnect from my insulin pump, and leave it out where the technicians hide all of their paperclips...
Now with the Blood Glucose Transmitter: I'm not able to strip all of the hardware off... no MRIs for me! nojoke

I was assimilated: We are the Borg!

How appropriate. Watched part of the 50th anniversary of Star Trek last night. That was one of the movies.
