Spyderfest 2014.Stayed at KOA. Making plans to be at KOA again this year for Spyderfest.
I think my first one was SITS in 2009(?) Not long after I bought my 2008 GS. Anybody on here remember the Gentleman was certain TN was not a helmet state and did not get far, when he got nailed by the law. The next year he had a helmet covered in hair.
We're new to the world of Spyder, but are considering going to Spyderquest 2015. Maybe you can fill us in on the do's and don'ts we should expect or avoid.
Nuh, uh....we met you and Joe in Wisconsin at that rally at Devils Head Resort!!! Wouldn't that be our first event?Spyders in the Smokies 2010 and your barbecue
Chris, in2010 it was Spyders In the Smokies put on by Spyder Talk and Lamont had a BBQ. The Owners Event was in Chicago that year.
I said that the Smoky event was my first event but really I went to an event in Wisconsin that was put on by Robs Performance, the dealer who now does Spyder Rendevous. It was a Spyder event but there were less than 10 Spyders there. That is where I met Butch and Paula and Kelly. We all met up in Gatlinburg for the Smoky event and have been friends with them ever since.
My first spyder event was the home coming at the BRP factory in Canada in 2008. It was great and have met so many friends there and everyplace else since.

The 2013 Owner's Event in Maggie Valley was my first Spyder gathering. I had just gotten my motorcycle endorsement in the middle of April and in June I rode 950 miles from Iowa to Maggie Valley. I took 3 days to ride down and the third day I met up with about 20 other Spyder riders in Lexington KY, and we caravan'd to Maggie Valley. Met some great people and had a great time.
After the Owner's event, I went to Lamont's barbecue and actually met Lamont. What a nice guy. Met more people there and then took another 3 days to ride back to Iowa. It's a trip I'll never forget.
Last spring, my wife and I experienced Spyderfest. The day we left it was 40 degrees and the wind was blowing 25-30 miles an hour with a threat of rain. It was my wife's first trip on the Spyder and she never complained. We had a great time at Spyderfest and we are coming back this year (hopefully with a guitar).
See you all there.
Tony
Tony: You should hook up with Chico from Omaha. He is a Spyder owner with a guitar also!! We will both be at Spyderfest again this year. Maybe put Aug. 29-30 on your calendar as we will be having our Spydermania II in Council Bluffs, IA. Chico and I (THE BIG F) are the organizers this year. Got a couple great rydes planned in the Loess Hills Byway plus lots of other fun stuff. My email is: [email protected]
