• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I know its early, but tell me what you think. I ordered these soft ice packs for my migraines. It mentioned they last 8 hours which makes then a good asset. So I thought, besides what I plan to use them for, I could carry them in the summer to keep cool while riding. Just stop somewhere and put it on my forhead. I think putting a cold pack on the jugular also helps. Also, if someone has bags, they can use it to keep their drinks cool. Last summer I got heat stroke during a ride.

cooling ice packs

Because I live in Vermont which causes a shorter season :banghead:.... I NO longer care what the temp. is ….. anything under 110F and I will ride with a SMILE  on my face …..hope they work out for you …..Migraines SUCK ….. Mike :

Heat stroke sucks. I use a spray bottle with ice water. Put it in my cup holder and can spray neck and shoulder areas on the go. When it's real hot I keep cold drinks in a cooler and stop often. Spray myself down with water and drink lots too..... When transiting the desert in hot weather, I will often stop a couple of time an hour. Makes for slow going but safer..... Jim

When it's 95 - 105 degrees in the Sacramento or San Joaquin foothills or valleys, I'll stop at a gas station, buy an ice cold 24oz bottle of water and just pour it over my head. I get cooled off immediately, then back on the road with a very primitive version of an air conditioner for at least 10 miles. Of course I drink some water too.

I have the same problem with the heat. I've tried several cooling vests and the only one that seems to work for me is a Veskimo cooling system. It comes with a cooler that you fill with ice and cold water is continually circulating throughout the vest. A little pricey but works great.

We bought cooling vest and they work really well for us, we have ridden in 100 degree weather getting to a destination and they have allowed us to continue riding for extra hours. If we are pulling the trailers we have extra ice and water to soak them in, but if we don't have the trailers we stop and just soak them down with any water. They really help keep your core temp at a more comfortable place.
