• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting ready to leave for Gettysburg/Antietam and weather report is for mid 90s. Trying to prepare the Spyder as well as possible for the heat and since I have all the SpyderPops add-ons, I decided to remove the splash guard from the radiator side. I took off the other side, but was just leary of leaving all the working stuff on that side exposed to road debris and it left the lower panel a bit floppy. I assume leaving just the right side off has to help, but has anyone had any issues on the left side by leaving the guard off?

Make sure and go to the Appalachian Brewing Company while you're in Gettysburg --- great food and great beer!:D:thumbup:

I am curious as to why you would need to remove parts because the weather is warm. I live in TX, where I was riding earlier this afternoon in 102 degree temps without any problems at all. I have not removed anything from my Spyder. Is there something I should be doing?

You may also want to go to The Pike on rt 97 just south of Gettysburg in the middle of the Battlefield. They are biker friendly and have a Prime Rib/seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights and usually have a DJ or live music.

When it comes to the temperatures around here it's not the heat it's the humidity that gets you!Hope you have a great trip.

I've had mine off since just after I got my Spyder in January 2008. No problems. The bike will run cooler and I don't see any downside.

Oil change is MUCH easier with the left side off.

I was riding in 90 degree weather and heavy traffic (stop and go) at 5 o'clock yesterday coming back from Riverside, CA. Spyder never went over 5 bars and mostly stayed at 4 bars. Do I have an unusual Spyder that has no "heat" issues? Nothing has been removed. Ride safe.
