• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

regarding the brp trailer hitch

Today I installed the trailer hitch on my RT. The hitch is used and when I got it, the four (2 on each side) bolts were loose. I tighter them up and installed the hitch using the recommended 37 ft-lbs as per the instructions.

1. Is there covers available that will at least cover the outside lt rear bolt?
2. The instructions never mention tightening the four bolts and what the torque setting should be. Anyone know what the factory torque setting is for these bolts?

Thanks

No covers, although you might be able to snap one of the stock covers back on the left side...I never tried. I have run both of mine bare. Be careful tightening the four side bolts. There are urethane and rubber bushings in there, that are supposed to be able to move slightly. You don't want any play, though. You also do not want to distort the metal. I'd tighten to the standard torque for that size bolt, or a little less. My tech tightened mine until the movement of the hitch just disappeared when shaken by hand.

The instructions that came with the hitch shows on Page 1, all bolt sizes and the torque by bolt grade type. I have no way of knowing what the grade type and bolt no is.

If you can see the nut side, you can measure the bolt size. As to the grade, I would start lowest, and you may not even want to torque that tight. That bracket has to be able to move a little if it has to. There really isn't a lot of science to this...just tighten them down until the bracket doesn't move easily...but not so tight that it would never move at all. If it rattles when you use it, tighten a bit more.
