• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Regarding Sway Bar

I was reading with great interest. I almost ordered Ron's sway bar but wanted to wait until I could get some answers about this question. I have a 2012 RT S ES Limited, I did not feel I needed a sway bar, because I can take a curve faster then the posted speed, very much faster. But yesterday I was just riding around town just up one street and down another, ( I didn't circle the Sonic drive in like we used to). Anyway I was taking turns one after the other and a few curves I noticed the back wheel kind of sliding around and I was not going very fast. I made the shock softer no change Then moved it up to 'Hard" and same thing. Is this sway bar going to correct that or is it something I have to live with? Back tire 28 pounds. My question is will the sway bar help me?

I suppose it would depend on if the back tire is actually sliding around or giving you the sensation! You've obviously never felt it before, so if I had to guess the cause, I would say you've worn through the stickier rubber on the tire and down to the harder stuff, so it isn't hooking up like it used to.

On a side note, there really isn't any good reason to deny yourself the bar. You'll kick yourself for not putting it on sooner, since you seem to love tight corners. The bar does most certainly help with the rear washy feeling, but I had the washy 2010 model. I swear it went from and RT to an RS with just the bar, then I put on the 2012 shocks. I have no idea how I rode it before those two upgrades. Now for the shock relocators, but they will have to wait for a day where the sneak attack on the boss can be properly implemented. nojoke

SWAY

I ONLY HAVE 2,500 MILES ON THE TIRES SO THAT WOULD NOT BE CAUSED BY THAT. I WENT DOWN AND TALKED TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID IF THE RT :spyder2:WAS HIS HE WOULD PUT THE SWAY BAR ON. THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT. i WENT FOR A RIDE TO CHECK AGAIN AND MY:spyder2: IS LEANING MORE THAN I THOUGHT. I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON OTHER THINGS AND GUESS THE LEANING HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE.:dontknow:

Get the bar! You will realize that you were moving around quite a bit but didn't notice it much. To really see the difference, go out and follow a couple of trucks (log trucks or parking lots are best) and you will really see the difference.

One of my best mods, hands down

Believe us..!!

I doubted the bar would change much and as mentioned above could kick myself for waiting. I have an RS and the change was dramatic so rather than wait I also installed the Pitbull re-location block which was equally as dramatic and I am still running the stock shocks. Considering these changes cost less then some flashy farkles it is well worth it...:popcorn:for your next post after you install the bar...

It can be hard to diagnose issues over the Internet. Many times the best we can do is give you things to bounce off of. Here are my thoughts (which are worth almost as much as they cost... Inflation you know).

As you get more used to your Spyder, as with any vehicle that you're enjoying riding aggressively, your speed in corners tends to increase, especially those that you are familiar with. You may not realize the additional speed but your tires may.

Also, road surfaces can change. Not a big deal normally, but if you're pushing it, that can also make a difference.

As long as you're sure there is noting physically wrong with your Spyder, it may just be you're getting much better at riding it. I am surprised that the Nanny isn't kicking in at this point.

There are some things you can do. The biggest improvement comes from getting 'Smooth'. Work on proper entry, exit and apex for your turns, and make these transitions as smoothly as you can.

The Sway Bar is a transfer device. It is a spring that transfers weight created by centrifugal force from the 'Heavy' outside wheel to the 'Lighter' wheels. From my research about sway bars and 3 wheeled reverse trikes, there is a percentage of weight transfer to the rear wheel in turns. Generically speaking it seems to be about 70% to the inside front wheel and 30% to the rear wheel. So traction is increased at all 3 points. That is why the sway bar makes it seem like you're on rails. It does no good to increase traction in the front if the rear is going to kick out on you.

Will my sway bar 'Cure' your 'wild side' rear tire? Only trying it will tell. But I can assure you that it will, at the very least, help.

Sway Bar

Thanks Ron

I sent you an email today to order sway bar and Hiem or what ever you call it I don't want to go through PayPay Bill Later. Can't give you my credit card or send you a check?

swaybar

I would have to say, get the bar. I just had one installed on my '13 RTS by ,Spyderppops onFriday and I can already tell the differance. We got to ride the track at Barber Motorsports Park and it really improved the handling.
