• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

There seems to be an onslaught of new Spyder owners on Facebook and of course they all have questions....I always refer them all right to S.L. I don't pay much attn to the membership numbers, but they gotta be up:yes::clap:

I have been doing the same. I can't understand buying a thing as unique as a Spyder and not getting onto a forum. So many are floundering and screwing up their machines or paying way too much for so little.

Just for the record, I'm not on Facebook but I am a true believer in supporting forums, by participating when I can. That said, one of my hobbies/past times is smoking meat and I understand that other owners of the brand of smoker I'm using, their Facebook group has an incredible amount of participation. I'd like to join in but I don't want to surrender all of the personal information that is required to be a member (of Facebook), so I'm not privy to all of the valuable information I'm told I'm losing out on<LOL>

Not the best pic of my smoker but it does include an obligatory shot of my Can Am Ryker Rally:clap:

Here and a couple of the FB groups both have their place.

I find this website, Spyderlovers tend to be an older crowd, often the same people always.

The FB groups lean towards a younger group, and not being a website, often has people jump in then jump out after they learn what they need.

Each has their place.

I've done a basically dummy account on F.B., none of the info (other than an E mail address just for this account) is actual.

Not a member of FarceBook (or is that FaecesBook?). I joined here because my sister got a Spyder last year and I knew she was going to be asking me questions.

My wife now has one, too, so I'm here to stay. I have really enjoyed the information available here and hope to be able to contribute what I can, when I have something to share.

I also appreciate the input from the vendors/sponsors here. Very informative, and possibly mentioning their products, without being pushy about it. :thumbup:

.

The subject comes up often. I am not a user or liker of FB. I stay here for Spyder stuff.

RE: membership: New members daily. Many, many, many previous members are back and posting again. Some....it has been a long time. All are welcome. I have been around here since 2010, so recognize many of the returning members. :bowdown:

My wife got me onto FB because of an activity of hers, but like Saluda, all my info is phony. What I do most frequently is get people with questions about their Spyder over to this forum.

~~~don't you have to provide your name, associated with your email account?...just asking, I know nothing about FB
~~~if we don't have member participation, what you end up with is stagnation. I for one appreciate all of your input ARtraveler. You can quote me on that:coffee:

Yes, that was altered too. Just remember the fake birthday, you may get asked it later for a security question reply.

~~~I guess it would be easy enough to create a front account on FB, by using one of the alternative accounts that my email with MSN allows me free access. BTW, I've yet to use more than the one account that I have with Microsoft. It's just always seemed like a bother to me to get on with Zucky's FB. I know hindsight is always better than foresight, that said, I really kick myself for not buying his stock when it was first offered=:-)
