• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Reda Vs. Rotopax

I have viewed with interest the issue of poor gas mileage on the spyder. I too am one who would love to see it better. However, hopefully being a realist, I've accepted the fact that it is what it is.

With that said, I've seen discussions about gas cans and referencing the "Reda" can. I've even talked to a few spyderlovers about their opions of the same. While at the BRP site, I noticed that Lamont had what was a 1 gallon "Rotopax" gas can. It was stored conveniently in his 622 trailer in the front. I liked very much the setup and asked if he was satisfied. (dumb question). He was and had not experienced any leaks.

Consequently, I am now looking at the Rotopax 1.75 gallon gas container and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with this product. I think it would store very well in a "milk basket" styled container.

Any thoughts?

Chris PS: Price is not a major concern.

The Reda is only .9 gal. That might be a concern, If you run the Spyder dry.:dontknow:
:dontknow:

it may only be 9/10ths of a gallon ; but that's still going to get you down the road over 20 miles...

I put a Reda in my left side case and I don't think I could ever store anything in that case again that I don't want to smell like gas. :(

I have both the REDA 1 gal Can and the Rotopax 1.75 gal can and love both of them, if you make sure not to overfill either one and put the cap on tight, they will both serve your every need.

Which size? I have two of the 2-gal left over from my ATVs and was hoping I could use it with the Spyder. Alternatively, if riding solo, anyone ever seen one secured externally on a rear rack?
