There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Red Rocks or Bust

I'm on my way to Utah, planning to see the National parks before the rally. I've been lucky with weather. Just some heave fog (atmospheric not cranial). I had expexcted going over the divide to be colder, but it wasn't cool at all except in a mountain shadow. And I had over-dressed for it. I'll be in Moab, Utah a few days then work my way southwest. I'll post pics here.

Has anyone else started on their way yet?

Hopefully the weather we had here in the Black Hills won't be that far S. They closed the interstate around Rapid City because of 6-8" of hail on the roadway and HEAVY rain.

Weather here is good and should continue esp. in the St.George area. While in Moab be sure to go to Newspaper rock and Islands in the Sky( UT 211) Also take the road into the park that goes to Needled Overlook. When you are done with those go South on US191 to Blanding and pick up UT 95. There is fuel at Hite but leave Blanding with a full tanl. Take 95 to Hanksville and then 24 to Torry. Good motels and restaurants in Torry. Out of Torry take UT12 to Boulder up over the Boulder Mountain. Could be could there,it has it's own weather. Coming down from the mountain top you will be riding the Hog's back, drops off on either side. As you come a little further down you will see a sign for Calf Creek Falls. Pull in and take the hike back in about 1 1/2 hour walk but easy walking. Great trail, Indian ruins and a beautiful view at the end. The rest of UT12 of course is Bryce Canyon and Red Canyon.

Well that should keep you busy until the 28th.

I guess you can say I have, three weeks ago this morning! Spent three days before leaving Idaho taking pics of historical marker signs for my ongoing calendar project, year 5 of 8! Then went on to Wing Ding in Billings. From there I traveled by way of Mt. Rushmore and Badlands to east Iowa where I spent several days with our son and family. Saw our first great grandchild, finally at 1 1/2 years old! What a joy that was! From there back to Omaha for a Lions Clubs International convention for 3 days. I leave here Sunday for a stop in Denver and then on across Colorado via various secondary roads and to St George! See you all there on Monday, 9/26

We had perfect weather this week at the NorCal Rally. I picked up your tshirt and goodie bag, now I just need to remember to bring it to St. George.

Moab, Utah. I'm staying at the Lazy Lizard Hostel, where I have a private cabin.

I had dinner at a Mexican place last night - lobster enchilada. Great! The number 1 restaurant in Moab us a food truck. I plan to try it tomorrow.

I spent today at Arches NP. These rock formations are: Three Gossips, Sheep Rock, Tower of Babel, The Organ.

This is Balanced Rock, but you 13-year-olds can make up your own names. (You know who you are.) I'll just say "that's a big one".

More pics from Arches NP.

Double Arch. image.jpg

Salt Valley. image.jpg

Delicate Arch from the easy-to-get-to lower viewpoint. image.jpg I started up a trail to the upper viewpoint. It got steep about half way up. Someone had built this arch by the trail. So I took a pic in case I didn't make it all the way up. image.jpg I did finally get to the top and saw this view. image.jpg

More Arches NP.

Fiery Furnace gets its name from the red color it takes on at sunset.

Skyline Arch. image.jpg

Tomorrow I'll go to Canyonlands NP "Island in the Sky" area and Dead Horse Canton state park.

Spent some time at Zion National Park yesterday.

To go up the gorge with all the best sights you must take their free shuttle. It's a great idea, no traffic or parking issues. Beautiful views. The more I've seen of Utah the more I'm convinced I will have to do this trip again.

Today I rode to Hoover Dam. We were there when I was a kid and we did the tour then. Good thing because now it cost $10 to park and another $10 just to get into the visitor center! What a rip-off! So I ride across the dam and took a despicable from higher up on the Arizona side.

Tomorrow the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

Started on trip to Red Ricks

Should be in Boise tomorrow and land in St George on Monday. Hope to dodge weather bullets.

The Princess (Camille) and I are leaving Sunday AM with RON in Marble Canyon. Want to ride along the beautiful Vermillion Cliffs with the Sun at our backs Monday Am. Should arrive at the Hilton Gardens after lunch on Monday.
