• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

"Red Dragon" (2009 RS SE5) stuck in 2nd gear?

Hi All, Coming home two nights ago and Spyder went to second gear and will not come out. Will run, but can only go so fast in 2nd. Need oil change, but need to get there. How can I get it to change gears, so that I can get it to the dealer for service? At full stop, must rev engine to start moving (in 2nd). Any suggestions, other than the obvious, unaffordable, trailer it?

Thanks for any and all assistance.

I Owe, I Owe, its off to the shop I go

:agree: x 2. Happened to me about a month or so ago.

Oil level is good, so I guess it's off to the shop. Is that linkage something I can fix (having an average IQ)? Or is it definitely a shop thing?

Thanks All!

So that's a gear linkage!

Sounds like your gear shift linkage came apart.

After resolving to take Red Dragon to the shop.:gaah: I decided to check the oil, one last time. While running I noticed something hitting the bottom panel from the inside (that can't be right!).:dontknow: I removed the panels to see the above image on the left. I'm not mechanically inclined, but it just didn't look right. I accessed my shop manual and what do you know, that's the Gear Shift Linkage that billybovine was talking about. I read how the dot should line up with the slot. loosened the allen screw, pushed it on, replaced the screw, said a prayer, and turned the key. An "E" flashed, then she went into "N".:yes::yes: Tested reverse, then went for a short ryde. All is well. Red Dragon flies again. Thanks again to my "Spyder Friends"! You all are amazing.
