Red 2009 Spyder???

I asked my dealer today how much the actual price for the Spyder is going to be that I have put a deposit on. I was thinking that it would be the MSRP of $15,499 and he said it would be $16,599. I asked why the $1,100 increase. He said it is a 2009 model. :dontknow: So are the 2009 models a $1,100 increase in the MSRP? Is there any other changes that have made to the 2009 models?

Are there any dealerships out there that are selling the Spyders for less than the MSRP? I might be stupid here about this but I'm assuming that they can ask for the MSRP since they are selling like hotcakes. :dontknow:

They still can't seem to give me any solid answers since they haven't started selling them yet. It seems like when I talk to them, they are just as lost as I am about these questions I have. Anyone on here might know any of the answers??? Thanks in advance...

MSRP is going up for the 2009 models but i think it was 700$ i'm 99.9% sure it wasn't 1100$ though. There was a dealer in NC that was selling for under MSRP for the instock spyders.

There are dealers that sell lower than MSRP. For some reason that seems to make other dealers and (from the sound of things) a couple of owners mad. I was under the impression that dealerships decide on their own how much they are going to sell their products. They own the dealership right? So while i can understand a dealership having questions about how all of the new components of the :spyder:works or questions about its maintenance, the way they decide to price it is totally up to them so there should be no questions there. I would look up the MSRP and negotiate from there. I could see selling at MSRP but selling over it? Not to mention all the dealer set up and extras they will add to that.

But who am i to say? Just opening the lines of communication for everyone else to chime in:chat::2thumbs:

I ordered a Red SE5 in August. It is due by Nov. 15th. Ask the dealer yesterday what the price otd was going to be. He said $17,798.95. The MSRP on SE's are $1699.00 + $400.00 for the Red ($17,399.00). So thats a difference of $400.00. I imagine that is for freight. As far as I know mine is going to be an 08. You haven't included the price difference for the red so there's part of the difference & I have read on here that the 09's were going to be $700.00 more so that would be the $1100.00. Hope this helps.

Now this makes sense. Thanks everyone. I tell ya, these forums are wonderful! :2thumbs:

my dealer told me the 09 red se5's were gonna be 500bucks more guess that dealer is just jacking up his price im guessing :(. and i want a red one so im gonna wait for my 09 model to come in hope i dont have a super long wait but like others have said im willing to wait for what i want i had the option of just get a yellow or silver se5 but i really like that red one it looks so sweeeet. so as impaitant as i am, and boy i am hella impaitant too i was the kind of kid who put a model airplane together in one day lol i never had the patience to let the glue dry. always wondered why my landing gear never stood up like my bothers models did lol, anyways i want what i want so i guess i will wait for it :) :2excited:

That price is fine. The price of the 2008 silver SM5 MSRP was $15499, for 2009 there is a price increase of $700 to $16199. The price of yellow or red is an additional $400, bringing you to the grand total of $16599. So you are getting the bike for MSRP, not bad. My dealer is selling me the bike for $500 off MSRP (no freight or any extra $$$) and 10% discount on all accessories and no install fee on them. You can try to haggle a little, it doesn't hurt to try.

It seem like a lot of money for a 2009. You can find a better deal elsewhere.
