Awesome looking seat color. We are in the comparison stage right now for upgrading the seats on the RT's from OEM. There are so many different brands out there to choose from that one tends to get flustered as to which one will be the most comfortable.
I will watch this thread with interest regarding comments per the comfort of the ultimate seats versus the rest.
Congrats on your new seat, it looks great!
Thank you!
The most common ones spoken of for Spyders are Ultimate Seats, Corbin and Russel Day Long (in no particular order). One of the site sponsers, Motorcycle Dave, also builds/rebuilds seats. There are other makers but not sure who else builds a seat for us. That does narrow the field down somewhat.
I did a lot of searching on Spyderlovers to get a sense of the comfort of these various seats and I've had enough bikes over time to also know what I like and look for. But bare in mind that everyone is a little different and what one person loves another doesn't.
Do some searching. I'm not sure you will get all the feedback that you want from this thread alone. It takes time but it might give you a comfort level.
There are other considerations too. Ultimate does have a 14 day return policy if you're not happy. They also build their own seat pan whereas I believe Corbin and RDL need a seat pan to work with so its all or nothing if you send them your old seat to use. This isn't a knock on Corbin or RDL. They all make great seats. I also prefer the appearance of the Ultimate Seat and their rider back rest is more like the Utopia's I've used in the past.
Lastly, I think I saw that you are going to Spyderfest in 4 months. That is a fantastic opportunity to see all these seats in the flesh on other peoples spyders and Ultimate for one has a strong presence there and you can talk to them in person.
My wife and I are also booked in to Best Western and will be making the long ride there from BC, Canada so if you want to see the seat in person I'm sure we can work that out.
Cheers,
Gary
