• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Call a Spyder dealer give then your Vin # they'll run the numbers, and let you know what recalls should be done. If any.

Bob has given you good advice. The dealer can look up your VIN# and tell what has been done and what hasn't. To find your nearest dealer, you can visit the BRP Spyder website. http://en-us.spyder.brp.com/dealer-...g=-92.3700769&zoom=4&tabId=dealers/dealer_all In the US, safety recalls are issued through the NHTSA. To search their recall database, see the NHTSA website. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm

Not all defects are handled by the recall process. A recall is generally issued to address a safety defect, and all vehicles meeting certain criteria are included. This is usually done by recalling all vehicles of certain makes/models, within a specific production period. Recalls are tied to the vehicle VIN#.

Other problems are handled by the manufacturer and dealer through the use of technical service bulletins. These may address an entire group of vehicles or just those exhibiting a certain problem. For BRP, the Warranty Campaign is their most common type of TSB, although there are others. These must be looked up by the dealer. The tech will commonly do this when he hooks your Spyder up to BUDS (the BRP diagnostic system), but the dealer can look up your VIN# on the computer to see if any warranty campaign applies to your Spyder. Unless you actually show the problem listed in the TSB, the dealer may not perform any work, though. Occasionally a vehicle will be covered under a TSB but it will not show up on the computer. In those cases, if you have the problem, the dealer may have to refer to the hard copy to see if you are covered. This is getting to be less prevalent as BRP's system improves.
