There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rear Wobble Fixed

Well folks, I got my 2008 Spyder GS SM5 back from the shop last Friday.
The rear wheel wobble was from the rear bearings shot, that chewed up the housing.

The dealer told me that he has never saw this before on a spyder. They called BRP in
Montreal, and are you ready for this..........BRP paid for 50% of the cost of the repair.
I could not believe it. NOW THATS SERVICE. There was no warranty on my Spyder,
but BRP came through without me asking for anything!:clap:

The dealer replaced the bearings, and the housing and the main shaft (no charge)
My total cost $165.00 plus tax.
The dealer even gave me a discount.

My Spyder runs like a new machine. I am one happy Spyder owner.

Great news..!!

Thanks for letting us know the results. Really is great that both brp and the dealer helped you out...:2thumbs: now enjoy your ryde. :ohyea::ohyea:

:congrats:
I'm glad to hear that BRP (and your dealer!) went the extra mile for you on this one! :2thumbs:

How many miles were on those rear bearings? Did they give you any advice as to a suggestive service life for them?

My mechanic had to knurl the rear hub on my '10 RTS at 9,000 miles when I replaced the tire. The bearing outer race would turn inside of the hub.:yikes: It maybe was caused by the higher tension number on the drive belt.

I had 42,000km (25,000miles)<br> They will do a re-checks when ever I bring it in for service.
They want to keep an eye on this. This was all new to them as I said. Great bunch of guys at the dealer.

Sounds vaguely similar to what I remember...other owners started giving their Spyder short rolls listening for the bearings crackle. Several more bearing changes came about, before other components got damaged.
