• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do I have to loosen the swing arm end caps to remove rear wheel ?

If I do have to loosen the end caps, Will this screw up my belt adjustment when removing the shock bolt like in Lamonts video ?

Do I have to remove the axel nut on the left side (shifter side) and right, or just the right side ?

Thanks.

The nut is on the right side only. If you remove the shock bolt you don't have to mess with your adjustments, that's the whole idea. :doorag:

Ok, thanks. :thumbup:I will only undo the right then, but it looks like there is a nut on the left side of mine as well so I wanted to ask. :dontknow: Pic below

 It looks like a nut to me...
But then... "Sometimes you feel like a nut... sometimes you don't!" :D:ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:

Are you getting ready for "Operation Powdercoat"?

Just about, I'm trying to get everything ready and at least know how to do it.

I went for a small ride today and washed it, added staibul and filled the fuel. So yes I'm ready to shut down for the winter, but another 40 degree day and out of the garage she comes.

Well then we're going to need progress reports... NOT the singing kind! :D
So what tire did you decide to slip under the rear?

Roger is giving me his stock one that he took off. He says it's like brand new. I will throw him a little something for it. Holly feels more comfortable with a stock tire because she reads all these threads saying you lose traction with a car tire. That is the bad part about Holly being on this forum. She scares really easy.

Honestly, people think changing the tires at nearly 14k miles is bad and they should last longer. I could have got more out of it, but I did a few burnouts. I think the stock tire lasts a really long time IMO. On my CBR 900 I had to change the rear tire every riding season and the front every other. I'm happy with what I got out of the stock tire.

I'd love it if my wife's RS stock rear tire got 14K or even 10K. She has 8,500 miles and has worn through the first two levels of wear bar. Has about 1mm until reaching the final wear bar. Never done a burnout. It lasted about 8 months since new which is slightly better than I usually get on my motorcycle rear tires. Guess we're just hard on tires.
