There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rear Wheel - How easy to rotate?

Hi there.

With the Spyder on a stand, all wheels off the ground, how easy is it to rotate the rear wheel (while in neutral of course).

If you spin it, does it free-wheel as you take your hands off, or does it consistently need a little force from your hand to help it rotate?

Thank you.

I noticed the new pads tend to rub on the rotor. There was a fix for squeeky brakes using a spring that will probably stop the rubbing as well.

I'm working on it! The next couple of days should be dry and sunny... we'll see! Thanks. :)

I don't really see a issue, here, as it's brand new and the brakes are not yet broken in - and it will take 300km or so for the tires and brakes to break-in.

However, I'm just wondering if the rear wheel should be difficult or easy to rotate, in general, while raised off the ground and in neutral.

Just curious.
Thanks.

The brake on the GS/RS tends to drag a little. Ours wouldn't even roll back at a stoplight until I installed Tatt2r's brake spring fix to retract the rear pads slightly. My RT-S doesn't seem to have the same problem. It rolls quite freely. Resistance when turning the rear wheel on your RS is normal.

Thanks for the note, Scotty:

until I installed Tatt2r's brake spring fix to retract the rear pads slightly.

I'll check this again, evening if my RS rolls back in the garage, freely with a slight push, and see if it rolls at all. I don't really think it is a problem what so ever, but if it does wear down brakes faster then expected I may look at installing Tatt2's brake spring mod.

Thank you.

There should be some force required, but it should not be excessive. I hope your weather lets you ryde soon.

Thanks for helping me confirm.

The sun is out today, but wow, is it cold here right now. I was thinking of backing out into the driveway for a picture in the sun, but I will not get home from work until late today, .... I'm working on getting pictures and riding, no worries there. :)

Cheers.

Because I own a SE, I keep the adjustment at the 1 or 2 click level. Adjustments are quick and easy, (including the spline reset) if you keep the parts clean and lubed.
