Rear Trunk Power socket Fuse 6 and 7 Spyder RT 2015 SE6

I have a new Spyder SE6 2015 Base RT

I have had a dealer add various mods including
Fender Amber front LED’s – Fitted so they also act as Indicators

They were tested and worked as expected

I Picked it up today and when I got home I decided to put it on a battery tender via the Power socket in the rear trunk

I was aware that it may not be live unless the ign is on via Fuse 6

I changed this fuse to No 7 so the socket would be live all the time

I noticed the Amber fender lights were on No other lights/Indicators were showing - I disconnected the Battery tender but the LEDS were still on

When I moved the Fuse back to position 6 the lights went out - Reconnecting the Fuse to No 7 LED's on the fenders came on again

Anyone know how I can overcome this problem as I would like to use the rear trunk power socket as my point for connecting a battery tender

Mine has a tender in the front compartment

Look in you front box. There is a trailer two wire lead that is capped. It is directly connected to the battery. You get the other half of the connector at any auto parts store.
Let me know if you have this item

Hi Dennis

My dealer says there is a lead behind the rubber covered hole in the front trunk

I have removed the rubber cover and can just about feel a lead but can''t pull it out to see what it looks like or the type of fitting I would require
to give me a power socket in the front trunk

Any further information would be useful

Thanks

Lead behind the Frunk

The lead behind the Frunk is for adding a power outlet inside the Frunk. It is wired parallel with the outlet in the Rear Trunk. Both the rear and front out power source are controlled by F6 or F7 so connecting you battery tender to the front leads won't fix the problem you described above. It appears that the dealer may have used the leads in the boot to power your fender lights instead of the wiring for the fender TIP Light as evident by you changing the fuse to F7 and the lights came on. Changing back to F6 they went out but when you turn the key on they come on as well as the back red lights and plate light.

Without taking the Frunk off it is hard to extend the wiring located in the boot because the harness is tie wrapped to the frame.

I am with Doc on this one. If you want the power outlets unswitched the aux lights hooked up to them need to be connected to another circuit.
