• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear trunk lid support - my own solution.

I have the issue that most of us with a "experienced" RT suffers. My rear trunk lid will not stay open, I do not have a luggage rack, but, I do have a weak gas strut. I looked at replacing the existing strut and adding a second. I was not impressed with the pricing. So being a serious DIY'er I came up with my own solution. Which is very similar to what others have done. I made a little pogo stick to put into the second set of mounting holes. I made mine out of Aluminum, though I would think a small piece of maple or oak would work just a well. It also requires a 8-32 x 1 1/4 screw with lock nut.

It was quite simple to fab, could easily be made with just hand tools, and works slick. If anyone wants a sketch, I made a PDF of the dimensions.
