• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Trunk Bag and IPOD Warning

We purchased the rear trunk bag and shelf. The bag is a little big for the opening but if you don't take it in and out a lot it's okay.

The problem arises when you want to plug in an IPOD or MP3 into the right plug. As soon as I put the bag back it not only disconnected the IPOD but it knocked the cap and lock ring off of the 7-pin connector and then the connector fell back into the speaker housing.

My fix was to take the rear fairing off from around the tail lights and latches in the back. Then take the speaker off. I then drilled a new mounting surface about 3-inches down on the vertical surface just beloiw the level of the oriigial opening and it puts it about and 1" below the deck. I plugged the hole above with the plug that had been in the passenger headset hole.

Since the left side power outlet is impeded by the bag also I added a Powerlet BMW Surface Mount Outlet on the left side below the deck level.

Now the bag can go in and it doesn't affect whatever is plugged in.

Can-Am could probably just make a diagram and have the dealer redrill the IPOD hole if you are going to buy the bag and flip down deck.

If anyone wants a photo let me know.

Did you ever take pics of the hole placement? I purchased the 4 storage suitcase bags when I bought my RT. Front trunk suitcase roller bag with extension handle, 2 saddle bag suitcases and top trunk suitcase bag. Will check today to see if the top trunk bag I have interferes with my new large iPod setup. Before I used the larger 80 gig iPod, I'd pulled the bag in and out of the trunk several times with no fitment problems for the Nano.
I just Checked again and not a problem with the bag interfering with the 80 gig iPod either when pulling in or out of the trunk. When I purchased the bags and the included shelf, I couldn't see where the shelf served a necessary purpose. Frankly, the velcro is poorly attached to the shelf. I wedge my iPod in a corner when I ride and am happy with that. The shelf being specifically designed for the RT and the fact BRP made it to support audio units, I guess, is nice but I sure don't think it's a necessary piece. My bag slips in and out just fine not interfering and the shelf took up more space that the player by itself did anyway.
I'm including a pic of each of the bags so you can see what they look like. All 4 cost me around $410. I really like them.
