There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rear Top Cargo Shelf

I'm thinking of ordering one of these, but I saw some bad reviews about it on Amazon. Does anyone here have one on their :spyder2: and can you tell me how you like it?

Thanks

Pam

I have one... ;)
It came as standard on my Limited...
But if it didn't have it; I don't think that I'd miss it.
It made putting a top trunk line in a real project...
When I fold it up; it often is in the way...
The straps that support it, are often in the way also...
If I hadn't chopped up my trunk liner to make it fit with the shelf; I'd have already removed the shelf...

I keep mine folded up, all the time . . . but keep some things behind it, held in place by it, so I don't have to dig around looking for them. If I didn't have one that came with my RT LTD, I don't think I'd buy one.

Came on mine also, but it is very limited use.

I leave it folded up nearly all the time. It does serve to cover the electrical outlets and my iPod. I also leave a spare charging cable and a couple of very small devices hidden behind it, but I could do it just as easily in a small camera case or baggie.

Occasionally I fold it down and use it as something like a shelf to set something on like a glove while I put on the other, but I only use because it's there, not because it is particularly useful.

Unless you've got money to throw down, I suspect you could invest in a farkle that's more fun.

I don't have one and don't think I need one. I use the "throw" method of putting stuff in the trunk.

Extra gloves, baseball cap, folding cane, Airhawk, and way at the bottom, a few tools and some bungees.

Not pretty, but I can get most of my stuff out in less than an hour.
:roflblack::roflblack:

I have one and use it to separate those things on the bottom that I do not use regularly. I wish it fit a bit tighter around the sides to prevent small items from drifting down the black hole but over all I do like it.

I bought one for the stupid high price.... When I got it I was like "this is $4 in plastic and a strap!".
I expected better. I put it in, hated it, took it out. Since then I cut up the shelf to make a heat block off plate :)

uploadfromtaptalk1435267665766.jpg installed this rack from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. $121.00 . easy install with some mechanical skills. love the rack for odd sized things like bag. hairs and fishing poles.

I've had luggage racks on my Goldwing and on my Vision. Racks look good on those bikes. Somehow a rack on the Spyder doesn't look right to me. But if you need it, who cares what me or anyone else thinks.

I ordered one of these for the wife. It came with the straps and shelf to install. Inside the top of the cover is a mirror for her to use. It is actually a very nice set up. But like the rest of people on here I too keep the shelf folded up and out of the way when not using the bag.

I think you are talking about another thing. Not the shelf but the zipper bag that mounts to the lid of the trunk. That is what has the mirror.
FYI love the bag but the wife hated the mirror. It is a plastic mirror and distorts like a "fun house mirror". Oh and then when you put stuff in the bag and it slides around, it scratches up the mirror making it basically unusable! I replace the junk mirror with a real one.

I have one of these on my Spyder RTL as well. I love it. I pack all my rain gear and extra leather in a hard case and strap it on when on those long trips. As far as the extra shelf in the trunk, I keep my registration, insurance and personal protection (Glock) in the top part. That's about all its good for.

No. I am talking about the bag. It does not mount to the lid. The mirror is in the bag and is actually thick plastic like a pocket mirror. Does not flex. Well unless you want to break it. If I can figure out how, I will post photos of the inside. The Amazon page does not do it justice.

P.S. I love your videos Finless. Keep up the great channel. :2thumbs:

OK I did not know the bag also had a mirror.... Makes sense though as you cannot have the bag and the trunk lid zipper pouch with mirror.
I hope the mirror in the bag is not the bad quality of the one in the zipper pouch!

Thanks,
Bob

I like mine and do not keep it folded.
I typically keep two Sena 20S there while & for charging without needing to "dig" for it, same with lighter, extra sunglasses (for night), etc.
I find it quite handy.
The added benefit was I got it for free  as the dealer screwed up an order.

Soooo... How do you like...

That is awesome! I just ordered.

Pam

Hi Pam. So, how do you like the new bags? I assume they have arrived by now. I wish I had seen this thread a few days ago. I'm packing for SpyderQuest and these would have been great. I like organization. For now, I have stuff sacks that will work. I'm thinking about ordering these bags when I get back, if I have any money left. :roflblack:
