• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear tire

Don't know.....

Thanks 2dogs.....that sounds promising for those of us who would rather have the dealer replace the rear tyre for whatever reason. I wonder if there will be any kind of announcement?

I've heard (read) comments here that Kenda's have been improved over their famous 6/7k max life OEM tires. As sad as it is you can't 100% trust any dealer/parts person/service manager to be competent or fully knowledgeable about the product they handle. You may trust but you absolutely must verify. They'll BS you trying to make you think they know it all. There's an entire Britannica full of reasons why not to completely trust a dealership. Posters here are an excellent source for verification. I have to go to town in the next couple of days and I'll stop by the dealership and speak to the parts girl about the new tires. She's pretty sharp and if she doesn't know the answer to a question, she has the skills to at least find the answer. The spyder tech is most knowledgeable however they keep him sequestered in the shop away from the public. I'll add to this post or send you a PM.

Stopped by the dealership parts department.........

I checked out the new Kenda's on the tire rack along with a couple of older Kenda tires. The older soft side wall types were all 14"ers. They were the front tires. The dealer didn't have any of the older Kenda rear tires to compare. All the tires were marked "J" as designates a car tire with a car tire bead. Also on the tires they were clearly marked "motorcycle use only'" and each one of them were marked 3 ply side wall. There was a very notable difference in the side wall stiffness between the older front tires and the newer front tires even though both were marked "J" and "3 ply side wall," The parts person did not recall exactly when the last shipment of Kenda's arrived but said it was last year sometime in late summer. All the newer stock of Kenda tires had very stiff side walls, so, maybe they got the message as some posters here have said they're getting better millage on their Kenda rear tires.
