• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Tire Wear

We've been averaging about 16,000 miles on our RS rear tires, (with most of those miles with 2 up) but our first tire was really bald when it was replaced. :yikes: With 33k on the Spyder now, the replacement rear tire is sitting in the garage waiting for Ed to finish his chemo before he can resume working on our Spyders. He needs to have some other work done by the dealer and will probably have the tire replaced then. We have 5200 miles on the RT so the rear tire on it is looking OK.

TIRE WEAR

i got just about 9000 out of the KENDA, which is the OEM tire...

i mounted the KUMHO AST, and i've got just about 18,000 miles on that one, with about another 2000 miles to go...

I replaced my OEM tire at 7000 miles.
It wasn't worn out, but the tread was getting low enough that I figured it best to change it at an opportune time. (I didn't want to have to waste riding time during the season for another trip to the dealer.)
My Falken has 5000 miles on it now, and looks almost as good as new! :thumbup:
(ZE 912) It'll definitely last far longer than the OEM; which was wearing out it's center tread section first! :shocked:

BOB;
your tire, Falken, is not symetrical about the center line...

do you notice any 'fish tailing' or slight side-to-side vibrations...?
i'm getting ready to replace my KUMHO AST, with another AST, but will always consider others...

Nope.. Steady as a rock at all the speeds that I've run it at! :thumbup:
I don't know how much of the tread pattern has to do with cancelling out harmonics, or reducing the chance of hydroplaning, but it sure works! :2thumbs:

Car tires?

I spoke with another RT Ryder and this person changed to car tires all around. Said they noticed a huge difference handling the turns ( this person Ryder's fast!). What are y'all's thoughts on this.

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by " chopping bad "..... I see you have OEM Kenda's, they have a much higher " Defective tire " rate than Auto tires - you should consider switching to auto tires ........ I won't comment about the " power commander " since I never used one ........... Mike :thumbup:
